Continuing Success

This week Northwich claimed 2 victories and 1 draw. The 3rds beat Knutsford’s 3rd team 22 goals to 4. The young stars are playing exceptionally well and have made a great impact on the summer league with 3 out of 3 wins. This weeks player of the match was WA/WD Katie Frith.

The 1st and 2nd teams both faced Warrington Town teams. The 2nds drew 14 all in an exciting and close match. Gemma Cornes was awarded player for the second week in a row. The 1st team beat Warrington 44-26 in an enjoyable and comfortable game of netball. Emma Taylor at WA was given player for her accurate feeds into the circle. Northwich have regained their confidence throughout the entire club and the commitment of players can been seen through the results. Northwich have high hopes from all 3 teams this season.

Presentation Evening

Northwich Sapphires celebrated the senior and junior achievements at their annual presentation evening. Awards for Coaches Player and Players Player were given in each age group and the 3 senior teams.

A special award is the Club Person of the Year, this was awarded to Lisa Davies for her outstanding contribution to Northwich Sapphires Netball Club and for her commitment as a player, coach and vice chairperson. She was also awarded the first teams Players Player for all of these reasons plus the great quality of netball she shows on court.

Well done to everyone that has been involved with the club over the past year and we all look forward to celebrating our next achievements together.

The Weather Didn’t Stop Us

The horrendous weather conditions couldn’t stop Northwich Sapphires tonight. All 3 of our teams won there matches and some exceptional netball was played throughout the teams.

The 3rd team smashed Halton Diamondz 25-5 in their second win. Player of the match was Katie Griffiths with great shooting skills at GS and brilliant centre court play at WA.

The 2nd team showed Saints 1 that they were there to win. Gemma Cornes was outstanding at C and was awarded player of the match for her hard work. Northwich won 19-16.

Sapphires 1st ran away with the lead over Knutsford in the first quarter, the game was won and Sapphires played in a relaxed and confident manner. Taking into account the rain and puddles on the courts everyone played extremely well, especially player of the match Ursula Heath, who’s shooting was on top form. Final Score Northwich 45-20.

Well done to all teams.
